Residencial Sete Cidades

 

The city of Ribeira Grande owes its name to a small stream originated in the mountain of Lagoa do Fogo and that crosses the city. Ribeira Grande became a city on the 29th of June of 1891.

The city’s famous religious and cultural manifestations, namely the "Cavalhadas de São Pedro” on the 29th of July, the rich churches, the architecture and the landscapes concede joy, colour and a very unique culture to this municipality.

 

Ribeira Grande has some of the “must see” nature attractions of São Miguel.
