Residencial Sete Cidades

The municipality of Povoação houses some of the most notorious and interesting touristic attractions of the Azores.

Besides its historic importance for being the place where the first inhabitants of the island settled, in the municipality one can find active
volcanic manifestations as geysers and fumaroles, the richest hydrological area in Europe with over 30 varieties of spring waters and gardens famous all over the world.

Here lakes, beaches, forest, golf course and many, many belvederes allow the practice of golf, alpinism, fishing, volcanism as well as other
activities.

Povoação, particularly the Furnas parish, is famous for its typical gastronomy, especially for the island’s gastronomy ex-libris, the "cozido nas caldeiras" (a typical meal cooked in the baking earth).
