São Jorge Church The church houses some statues from the Franciscan Monastery which has now disappeared. The contrasting colours of basalt on the interior pillars of the three naves are of special interest.
Nossa Senhora do Pranto Chapel
This chapel is situated in São Pedro Nordestino and is almost 500 years old.
According to a legend, the Virgin Mary appeared here to a shepherd in 1522 and announced the plague epidemic which later occurred in Ponta Delgada.
Every Sunday during Lent, there is an auction of the gifts brought by pilgrims to give thanks for their blessings
Ethnographic Museum This museum houses a set of local ethnographic pieces of great interest.
Casa do Trabalho de Nordeste
Here one can find traditional handicrafts in exposition, such as embroidery and weaving on period hand looms.
