In a brazilian final Willian Cardoso won Jadson André that in the semi-final won the portuguese Tiago Pires. The winner, who won in the semi final the north american Austin Ware, rose from 31 th to the 13th place  World Qualifying Series (WQS) ranking.
 

This event was organized by the Azores surfers and bodyboarders union with the support of DAAZ Events, and featured some of the 44 best surfers in the world rankings (mostly competing in ASP World Championship Tour stages) , as well as numerous participants tht take part of the World Qualifying Series.
