There’s two courses
available in São Miguel Island.
BATALHA COURSE (10km from Ponta Delgada City)
This course is on the Island of São Miguel and
consists of 27 holes which offers the player the choice of different
combinations to make up the 18 holes. The course is notable for its
breathtaking sea views and fascinating scenery though woodland lining the
fairways.
FURNAS COURSE (10km from Ponta Delgada City)
Located on the Ilha de São Miguel this course was originally created by
Mackenzie Ross as only having nine holes. In 1986 Cameron Powell extended them
so successfully to the regular 18 that all the new holes feel as though it was
designed as one initial course. The course is located in the Furnas valley
which is famous for its tropical vegetation and hot springs together with its
breathtaking views typical to the Azores. The fairways are undulating and
mainly lined with trees providing an interesting game. The excellent greens
tend to be elevated making them just that bit more of a challenge.
